RULES
Here we go, the dreaded rules
IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO READ AND UNDERSTAND THE FOLLOWING RULES AS A PARTICIPANT OF THIS TOURNAMENT.
Best of Three: all games throughout the tournament are determined by playing 3 games with your opponent, the person with the best of 3 games goes on to the next round.
Double Elimination: Losers of round 1 only will go through to play other losers of round one. These games will be shown on the second bracket.
1. ALL games must be set at the 24 hour timer
2. Please play the 1st two games consecutively, each person starting one game.
3. The third game (if needed) should be set through choice between you and your
opponent. If for any reason you cannot decide between yourselves then please
contact Sue B or myself and one of us will decide for you.
4. If for any reason you suspect your opponent is cheating you must contact either myself or Sue B with a *screenshot of the game. We will then discuss this with several other Scrabble players (anonymously) ((your names would be removed from the screenshot)) The decision we make will be final.
ANYONE CAUGHT CHEATING WILL BE INSTANTLY REMOVED FROM THIS TOURNAMENT AND ALL FUTURE TOURNAMENTS.
5. If your opponent goes over the 24 hour allocated time and hasn't informed you, myself or Sue B, then you must use the skip option. If for any reason you cannot get online and you know you are going to go over time please feel free to send me a text on: 07870780134
So I can inform your opponent and ask them to wait.
6. Scores must be submitted by both players in round 1 in this format:
Joe Blogg won in RD1
John Smith lost Rd1
Future rounds only need to be submitted by the winner in this format:
Joe Blogg won RD? winners tournament
John Smith won RD? in lost tournament.
7. You are encouraged to take a screen shot of your completed games in the event of a dispute (I doubt a dispute would ever happen).
8. The most important rule! ENJOY THE TOURNAMENT AND DO SPEND TIME CHATTING WITH YOUR OPPONENTS TO GTE TO KNOW THEM BETTER.
These rules are not set in stone and can be changed by either Sue B or I at any time before and during the tournament.

How to take a screenshot of your game:
1. press Prt SC on your keyboard, usually found top right(ish).
2. Open Paint and click Paste, top left of Paint screen.
3. Choose the select button and drag your mouse over just the part you want to save. Prt Scr actually copies the whole of your screen!
4. Once you have selected the section you want to save, click crop.
5. Click save as and save where you can find it.
6. Open either photobucket or imageshack, I find photobucket easier to use.
Photobucket: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Imageshack: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
7. If you register with either of them it will save your images. A great way of keeping all your photo's safe :-) Choose private though or all and sundry can see them.
8. Click 'upload'
9. Open the image you want.
10. save and continue once it has uploaded.
11. Hover your mouse over the picture (screenshot), a drop down menu will appear. Click on 'IMG code'.
12. Come to the forum and either reply to a message or create a new topic.
13. Right click your mouse in the message box and click paste.
14. Click preview to check it came up ok, if so then click send.

Here we go! Please see the bracket below to see who you are playing in round 1. All rules apply apart from : 5. If your opponent goes over the 24 hour allocated time and hasn't informed you, myself or Sue B, then you must use the skip option. If for any reason you cannot get online and you know you are going to go over time please feel free to send me a text on: 07870780134
So I can inform your opponent and ask them to wait.
This rule will come into force as of 25th June at 8pm. We have to allow for people spending time with their families etc. over the weekend.
GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL

Re: Rules, Brackets & Scores 22nd June 2012
we thought it was best of 3 games. so we have played 2 at the same time i started one and evlyn the other. (happened to complete within 10 mins of each other) and we are now playing the decider.
if that is wrong then just take evelyn's win as the result as that was the first game to finish

Re: Rules, Brackets & Scores 22nd June 2012
It is best of three I just got confused when you mentioned RD2 as I thought you meant RD of the tournament.
You only need to post when all 3 games are completed or 2 if a decider game isn't needed.
Sorry for the confusion. x

My first round match with Lou has been decided:
Mark won Round 1
Lou lost Round 1
Unlucky Lou...you just never got that break you needed with the tiles you got. Thanks for the game and 'good luck' in the subsidiary tournament

Re: Rules, Brackets & Scores 22nd June 2012
Here is the updated bracket.
This is were we now need to be careful how scores are posted as some people are still playing RD1 while others can go on and play RD2. We also now have the 'losers' bracket in force.
When posting your scores please do so like this:
Sagacious_Sue won RD 1
OR
Sagacious_Sue Won QF L
OR
Sagacious_Sue Won RD2
NB QF L stands for Quarter Final on losers bracket.
Thanks everyone and good luck for the rest of the tournament.

Re: Rules, Brackets & Scores 22nd June 2012
TO ALL TOURNAMENT PLAYERS:
Please be patient until Scrabble is back up and running. Obviously Sue's rules were done without knowing this 'downtime' would happen.
I know this isn't necessary but let's all exercise common sense and keep communicating to get all tournament games back up and running without skips or forced forfeits.

Re: Rules, Brackets & Scores 22nd June 2012
That was quick and simple lol. Still downtime!
They have too many downtime's if you ask me. Not that you are but if you were then that is what I'd tell you. LOL
Hope it is all back up and running again asap.
As for the tournament, as Mark says, no FF, no Skips during this time if you do manage to get the game up.
New Rule: Due to this unexpected glitch (should know by now these darn things happen regularly)
Do NOT use the skip or FF options for a period of 24 hours AFTER the game is back up and running.
Thanks everyone for your patience and understanding. xx
